www.HowToQuitCigarettes.com Hey guys, If you want to quit smoking cigarettes, you have to know one huge thing that helped me to quit as well. That is to surround yourself around people who don’t smoke. Studies have shown people become the average of the 5 closest people in their lives. That means if you are currently smoking a lot, that is because you surround yourself with people who smoke. In order to DECREASE (or even totally get rid of) your smoking habit, you need to stop hanging out with the 5 current people and start hanging out with 5 new people in your life. This is what I call your new “Top 5″. That will be your new list of people who don’t smoke. Make sure these new 5 people hate smoking. This will greatly influence you to smoke less and even not smoke at all. For instance, if you are around people who smoke, you will end up smoking too much. But if you are around people who don’t smoke, you won’t be tempted to smoke cigarettes or even cigars. So get a sheet of paper and write down a list of 5 people you know who don’t smoke. And start hanging out with them more. You will notice hanging out with non-smokers will influence you to get rid of your old smoking habit. So stop buying Marlboro reds or lights or Camel filters or non filters or whatever! Stop buying cigarettes & set a quit date & write it down on a piece of paper! Is there nicotine addiction in you? You hate it when you are branded an “addict”. But are you not? You are because you became a great SMOKER. Have you realized that smoking shortens your life, threatens your life with diseases? Then, you waste thousands of dollars per annum on endless sticks of cigarettes. You even stink with bad breath. It is high time to quit your addiction and search for stop smoking remedies.

Many of the smokers find it difficult to quit smoking. It really is difficult, if you are not really determined to do so. All it takes is to keep your mind focused on the goal. In the first place, are your reasons for smoking valid? You may have started smoking for social acceptance, for curiosity or for cure of depression. And stopping smoking is more reasonable. It is a health risk threatening your life. It makes you less attractive because of bad breath, yellowish teeth and finger nails, stinking hair and clothes.  Stop smoking remedies are your partner to return to healthy living.

The following are the common stop smoking remedies.

1.    Nicotine replacement therapy. Since your addiction is on nicotine, this active component of cigarettes must be eliminated from your body system. Several products had been discovered for this purpose and they come in different forms. They can be candies, gums, nasal sprays, injections, patches, inhalers and prescribed drugs.
2.    Stop smoking therapies. The most practical in this group is water therapy where you have to drink much water to eliminate the waste in your body, including nicotine. Another is psychotherapy where your psychological and emotional disorders relative to withdrawal problems and cravings are attended to.
3.    Stop smoking programs conducted by various government or civic organizations are remedies that can be used in conjunction with the other remedies. This will strengthen your determination to quit smoking.
4.     Herbal therapy is a remedy that used herbs to curtail the cravings for cigarettes.
5.    Acupuncture can also be resorted to. The needle will relax the brain to end the desire for nicotine.
6.    Hypnosis is another of the many stop smoking remedies. When hypnotized, you momentarily forget your cravings.
7.    Nicotine vaccination will control the spread of nicotine cravings.

With the many choices, there is no justification for failure to attain the objective of stop smoking remedies; the process does not end there. Once you have started on the quitting, you have to keep yourself from temptation. And how can you fail when you have the bad effects of smoking pasted in your mind? Always remember a better and longer life ahead after you stopped.  Life is wonderful; make the most out of it by ending your smoking episodes.

The Ultimate Guide To Stop Smoking In 14 Days. http://stopsmokingformula.com

Of course you want to stop smoking. You want to quit smoking more than anything else, and you should! But, you just don’t know where to turn! If your like most, you may have tried patches, gum, Chantix, Zyban and/or hypnosis only to find yourself right back in the clutches of nicotine addiction! You know that your behavior is unhealthy, but you’re afraid to give up your crutch because if you do your emotional distress will worsen, and you just don’t know if you can cope without it! You know that it’s unhealthy to smoke, but you just can’t seem to stop! Unfortunately, smoking cessation programs not only fail to address the root cause of nicotine addiction, but they also fail in excess of ninety percent of the time! But, I’m here to tell you that there is a better solution for overcoming your nicotine addiction; one that doesn’t include patches, gum, hypnosis, psychoactive drugs or nonsense!

WHY YOU SMOKE

As with every type of habitual behavior, I believe smoking is a choice. I also believe that this choice can be broken down into the following two categories

Individuals who occasionally enjoy a cigar or cigarette socially
Individuals that smoke to alleviate their emotional distress and anxiety

Although there is health risks to consider when smoking, individuals that fall respectively into the first category are generally capable of walking away from it without any difficulty whatsoever. Comparatively speaking, this parallels individuals who drink occasionally and or socially. The second category represents individuals who have become dependent on smoking to alleviate there emotional distress and anxiety, whereby making it extremely difficult to achieve smoking cessation, unless they remove the root cause. I am vehemently opposed to labeling anyone since I believe that we are all created equal, but for the purpose of greater understanding these people would fall into the medical community’s definition of a nicotine addict. As we discussed earlier, most physicians, therapist, hypnotists, counselors and smoking cessation experts would have you believe that smoking is caused by a chemical co-dependence and/or that it is a learned behavior. Well, I have a different take on those theories, and I have proven over and over again in my Addiction Recovery Coaching practice that the root cause of addiction is the need to mask emotional distress. These emotional issues are often rooted in the negative patterns of family dysfunction, and smoking is no exception to the rule. Although when it comes to a smoking addiction, the primary type of emotional distress involved is anxiety. In many ways, smoking is used as a coping mechanism for those of us that are nervous, fearful, or anxious about our family, job, relationship, or financial well being. This frantic effort to control life often leads to smoking or a nicotine addiction. In essence, smoking is a crutch! But, why do some people react to the unknown with anxiety while others face it calmly with the belief that things always works out? I believe the answer to this question is twofold. First, some people naturally possess a higher level of coping skills, and second, some people have learned to conquer their fears, insecurities and most important their anxieties!

THE PSYCHOACTIVE EFFECTS OF NICOTINE

As nicotine enters the body, it is distributed quickly through the blood stream and can cross the blood brain barrier in approximately seven seconds. The life of nicotine in the body is around two hours. The amount of nicotine absorbed by the body from smoking depends on many factors, including the type of tobacco, whether the smoke is inhaled, and whether a filter is used. Nicotine’s mood-altering effects vary by report. Initially, it causes a release of glucose from the liver and adrenaline from the adrenal gland, which produces a stimulating effect. However, users report feelings of relaxation, sharpness, calmness, and even alertness. When a cigarette is smoked, nicotine-rich blood passes from the lungs to the brain within seven seconds and immediately stimulates the release of many chemical messengers such as epinephrine (adrenaline) and dopamine a neurotransmitter, which results in enhanced pleasure, decreased anxiety, and a state of alert relaxation. However, as the body adapts it requires increased amounts of nicotine to produce the same effect, whereby creating a trap!

WITHDRAWAL

Many of the proponents of the chemical dependence model believe that when you stop smoking, your body reacts very quickly to the lack of nicotine in your system. They claim that over the course of three to five days, you are likely to experience a number of the following physical symptoms as the toxins are flushed from your body:

Increased irritability, frustration, or anger
Anxiety, tension or nervousness
Restlessness
Difficulty concentrating
Fatigue
Headaches
Trouble sleeping
Increased appetite and weight gain

However, I have seen no empirical evidence to conclusively prove that most people experience the above-mentioned symptoms because of the lack of nicotine. I believe that most of these symptoms exist prior to smoking. Therefore, once you stop smoking the anxiety, restlessness, lack of focus, fatigue, and sleeplessness resurface. The nicotine was merely a masking agent! In essence, smoking is a means by which to alleviate ones anxiety and emotional distress. Think about it for a moment, and ask yourself the following questions:

When you smoke does it calm your nerves and relieve your anxiety?

Do you find it difficult to manage your anxiety without the crutch of smoking?

What has caused your anxiety? What dysfunctional patterns have you learned in the past that have damaged your self- esteem, confidence, or willingness to trust?
Do you find it difficult to avoid worry and to trust the flow of life?

Are you fearful about negative outcomes concerning your relationship, job, or financial situation?

Once you explore these questions, you may begin to discover the vehicle that is driving your smoking addiction!

Overcoming your nicotine addiction is really all about removing the source of your emotional distress, isn’t it? If you could remove the anxiety, nervousness, and emotional distress you wouldn’t need to alleviate it with the psychoactive substance called (nicotine?) Smoking is a symptom of underlying emotional distress and anxiety. Therefore, when you fix the root of the problem smoking becomes repulsive.

Learn how to make your urges to smoke dissolve on the spot! Learn how to make smoking become repulsive to you! Learn how to crush your last pack of cigarettes and walk away forever!

His success has overwhelmingly convinced him that the mainstream approach to addiction is fundamentally amiss because formal treatment programs attempt to defeat the symptoms rather than address the core issue.

Everyone is aware of the adverse effects of smoking yet there are people who continue to do so and cannot quit it. It has also been seen that many people consult hypnotherapists in order to stop smoking. Nicotine is the main component in cigarettes that makes chemo receptors in brain release dopamine, another chemical in the brain that elevates your mood when you inhale cigarette smoke. When you quit smoking abruptly, the sharp dopamine decrease causes abstinence symptoms: headaches, unrest, failure to concentrate, nausea/vomiting, and so on.

You may find yourself missing more than nicotine when you finally snub out your last butt. Cigarettes are designed to manipulate your taste buds too, and research shows that tobacco?s flavors, both natural and added, can hold extra sway for many people struggling to quit.

Your risks increase greatly if you smoke and have a family history of heart disease. Smoking also creates a higher risk for peripheral artery disease and aortic aneurysm.

Strong and consistent evidence shows that nicotine replacement products can help people quit smoking. These products are available in five forms—patch, gum, lozenge, nasal spray, and inhaler.

For smokers, to Stop Smoking is really a tough action to take. Majority of smokers want to quit smoking, but find it difficult to do so as nicotine is very addictive and hard to get rid off.

An additional obstacle to quitting is the many daily behavior patterns that smokers may not even realize they have, such as morning or before-bed cigarette routines, or smoking with friends, co-workers or spouses. Each person’s smoking behavior is different, but these established patterns link smoking to many activities of daily life.

Any intelligent smoker who amicably has all the good intention in the world to become an ex-smoker will never walk away from nicotine addiction if they approach it thinking that to quit smoking means that the smoker has to make a sacrifice of some sort, or even pathetically worse, is sacrificing something in their lives that they thought actually helped them get through it. life) This approach is suicide and guaranteed 200% to be nothing but an imminent failure.

To avoid this, many doctors and quit smoking experts suggest that you stop smoking completely but continue to use a nicotine substitute to help you manage any withdrawal symptoms or cravings. You can use tobacco substitutes containing nicotine to help you quit smoking.

Smoking also causes heart disease, stroke, lung disease (chronic bronchitis and emphysema), hip fractures, and cataracts. Smokers are at higher risk of developing pneumonia and other airway infections.

According to a recent survey, around 15 million smokers try to quit smoking each day. However, less than 3% of these people stop smoking successfully for 3 to 12 months.

Millions of Americans have health problems caused by smoking. Cigarette smoking and exposure to tobacco smoke cause an estimated average of 438,000 premature deaths each year in the United States.

Every so often someone comes into the Smoking Cessation Forum who lost their quit after years of not smoking. On the surface, it is frightening for those who are working hard to beat nicotine addiction.

CAN’T GO IT ALONE: Study authors say although deterrents, like changing one’s diet, can be helpful, they aren’t foolproof. “Every treatment requires willpower,” co-investigator Jed E. Rose, Ph.D., said. “This approach alone will not work. It may make cigarettes less pleasurable, but ultimately, if a person is craving a cigarette, he will start smoking again.” Dr. Rose recommends smokers trying to kick the habit use diet modifications in combination with traditional methods such as nicotine gum or nicotine patches. These methods help with withdrawal symptoms.

Those who have smoked regularly for a few weeks or longer, and suddenly stop using tobacco or greatly reduce the amount smoked, will have withdrawal symptoms. Symptoms usually start within a few hours of the last cigarette and peak about 2 to 3 days later when most of the nicotine and its by-products are out of the body.

Jay Corbett helps people every day to learn to
stop smoking for good
. Jay’s website has amazing information for anyone serious
about quitting smoking.

You’ve already decided to quit smoking. Hypnosis is just one of the methods you’ve heard about. You know someone who’s using nicotine gum to quit, and he says it tastes like dirty socks. And you’ve already tried cold turkey a couple of times and remember every agonizing minute of it. So the quit smoking hypnosis program sounds pretty good. But aren’t those programs really expensive? Won’t they cost more than nicotine patches or pills?

Of course, if you’re really concerned about the expense of quitting smoking, there’s no need to tell you that your smoking habit is already costing you a small fortune. You already know that your money is literally going up in smoke. And if you didn’t already know it yourself, your friends and family are more than happy to tell you how much money you’re wasting…over and over again. It’s one of the many reasons you want to quit.

So, as long as the quit smoking method you finally choose costs less than what you’re spending on cigarettes or cigars, you’ll be coming out ahead, right? Maybe not.

Do you know how much those other quit smoking methods really cost? Nicorette gum can cost you more than $100 a month. Using a nicotine patch can also cost you more than $100 a month. And how about those nasal sprays and inhalers? Well, they’ll cost you anywhere from $100 to $400 per month or more. And prescription pills? There’s another hundred dollars per month, at least.

And that’s just the beginning. Smoking cessation programs that use these methods usually plan for you to be on them for two to six months. So you could be looking at a cost of anywhere from $200 to more than $2400 to quit smoking

Of course, double or triple that amount would still be worth it if you really quit smoking for good using those programs. But 8 out of 10 people who use quit smoking drugs end up smoking again after spending all that money. And if they want to try quitting again, using those same methods, they’ll need to spend that same amount of money or more the next time around.

Now compare those costs with the cost of learning how to use hypnosis to quit smoking. Depending on the program you use, hypnosis for quitting smoking can cost anywhere from $40 to $500. Of course, it’s more expensive if you choose to find a hypnotherapist and go to one-on-one, in-person counseling sessions . And it’s less expensive when you buy a book or CDs, and learn to use self-hypnosis.

But whether you learn the techniques in person from a therapist, or from a book or from an internet download, the hypnosis tools you use to quit smoking are just as effective . That’s because what you’re really learning is how to use self-hypnosis to cure yourself from both your physical addiction to nicotine, and from your mental and emotional smoking habits.

When you use gum, patches, sprays, inhalers or pills you’re spending money to address your physical addiction to nicotine. Yes, the nicotine replacement drugs address the physical cravings. But they don’t help one bit with changing all of your day to day smoking behaviors, habits and rituals.

The methods used to help a person quit smoking are as varied as smokers themselves. Some people find that they can quit smoking just by will power alone, going cold turkey and butting out forever. Others may find that in order to stop smoking they may have to enlist the help of others in the form of a support group or other network. Others turn to methods such as the patch or some types of chewing gum. As cultures begin to merge, however, there are more and more medical practices that have previously been unknown to Western science that may have many benefits to those who wish to stop smoking. Some of these alternative methods are discussed in this article.

Acupuncture: Acupuncture originated in China. It is the practice of inserting long, thin needles into various acupuncture points on the body, which is said to restore mental health and well being. As with many Far East ideas, acupuncture is concerned with restoring balance as a whole, rather than applying the health theories of the West to any one assigned area. The piercing points are areas which help to shock the body back into a healthy balance. Acupuncture is highly debated in medical circles, and studies have never conclusively proven that it is an effective treatment for anything at all. However, many patients who have undergone this treatment sweat by its results, and thus it may indeed be an effective tool when it comes to the battle to quit smoking. Addiction, after all, is in part a mental affliction, and thus if a patient believes that a treatment is working then it is possible that it is doing so. Additionally, acupuncture has been demonstrated to assist in the release of endorphins, the full effects of which on the body as a whole are still unknown to some degree.

Hypnosis: Another method that many smokers try to use when attempting to quit is hypnosis. It is vital that hypnosis be understood in its rightful context, rather than the societal myth. Hypnosis works along the same lines as subliminal messaging; by applying the power of suggestion to a subject who is concentrating on another matter, it is possible to affect the thinking processes of the brain. In this way, hypnosis can be used to curb the cravings that come with nicotine addiction and often lead the smoker to relapse.

There are also several changes to lifestyle that can be made in order to increase the amounts of dopamine found within the body. Dopamine is the active ingredient in Zyban, and levels of dopamine can be increased through a higher protein intake, stress reduction, and by taking vitamins and herbs such as Indian ginseng and magnesium.

Despite these methods and there levels of success, however, it is important to note that the key ingredient when it comes to smoking cessation is will power. No matter which other method you choose to assist you in ending the cravings and lessening the physical symptoms of withdrawal, sooner or later it is going to come down to your ability to say no to a cigarette that will ensure the end of the habit’s hold on your life.

Smoking is one of the leading causes of preventable deaths. As a matter of fact, it causes one out of five deaths in the United States each year. Around 1,200 Americans die because of smoking everyday. Aside from the scare that people get from these mind-blowing figures, a lot of smokers would like to quit in order to look better. Cigarette smoking does have adverse effects such as premature aging, tooth decay, and hair loss. Some people would also like to have a better fitness level.

Whatever the reason is for quitting, there are now many support systems available in the market that can help a person to quit smoking. One of them is the stop smoking pill that is available in the market.

The New Stop Smoking Pill in The Market

Last May, a new stop smoking pill was approved by the Food and Drug Administration or FDA. This is the second nicotine-free quit smoking pill that has gained federal approval, adding to the limited pool of effective drugs for smoking cessation.

Varenicline was shown to help more than one out of five smokers to stop smoking after using it for a year. This stop smoking pill inhibits the feelings of pleasure that smokers feel when they light up a cigarette as well as the withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting. This product will now be available to the public under the brand name, Chantix. This new stop smoking pill should be taken twice a day for a minimum of twelve weeks in order to be able to quit smoking.

The First Nicotine-Free Stop Smoking Pill

The first stop smoking pill that was approved by the FDA in 1997 is Zyban, the brand name for a sustained-released tablet form of bupropion hydrochloride. Bupropion hydrochloride is the same drug that is used as an anti-depressant. This is sold under the name of Wellbutrin SR.

By boosting the levels of dopamine and norepinephrine in the body and inducing the same feelings that are brought about by the flow of nicotine in the body, this stop smoking pill can take away the need for a cigarette. Because this product can give a person a sense of energy and well-being, it’s very effective in reducing withdrawal symptoms and weaning people out of their nicotine addiction.

This stop smoking pill only works after the person has taken it for a week and has accumulated a sufficient amount of the drug in his body. It should be taken twice a day for a week before a person stops smoking. Most smokers tend to take this pill ten to twelve weeks longer in order to fully give up smoking.

Although the pills that are mentioned above are great for people who want to stop smoking, they should not be taken by women who are pregnant and breast-feeding. They can also be bad for people with a history of eating disorders like anorexia nervosa and bulimia. For these reasons, these stop smoking pills should only be taken with a doctor’s prescription.
