Are there really some easy quit smoking methods out there? In truth, there is no instant method that will make you quit without lifting a finger. A game plan and following a game plan is still required.
There is finally a way to quit smoking, which may not be effortless, but relatively easier. If you talk to other people especially smokers, they may discourage you and say that it’s impossible. But that’s not true. If you really want to kick the habit, you should muster up some determination and really push through a plan of attack. That, plus some helpful advice and guidance from various quitting systems available will help you succeed.
Those who say that it is absolutely impossible for smokers to stop smoking are most likely also the people who are too lazy and settled on the habit to even make an effort to quit. They keep saying to others what they say to themselves, that it is really impossible.
For those smokers out there who are set on quitting, do not let yourself fall into that trap. Most likely, you don’t even remember why you started smoking and that you realize that it is really self-destructive in more ways than one. Quitting is possible and here are methods that will help you along.
A great method is to first think off and list down all the benefits or reasons why quitting should be done. Just as they say: if there is a will there is a way. Listing things would help motivate you and clarify why you need to do it.
Another method for you is to stay in a house that is free from other smokers. Having to live with other smokers is such a challenge because you will be constantly tempted by the smell and by the cigarettes lying around that you can easily get.
You have to be warned that you will experience some withdrawal pains from nicotine. But not to worry, there are lots of nicotine patches and gums out there that will help you get through this problem. That will take care of the biological addiction, but you will still have to deal with the psychological addiction which is the biggest addiction of all.
The gums, patches, and hard candies that contain nicotine for those who want to quit can be found in any store. They contain small amounts of nicotine so that it will help the quitting person to compensate for the sudden lack of this addictive substance as an effect of quitting. The dosage on these things can then be lessened as the days go by. Anti-depressants such as zyban, Chantrix, and other medicine can also be used to help lessen the withdrawal syndrome. If these are still not enough, you should look for other programs about kicking the habit, which many are available online.

I have rarely met a smoker who has not tried to stop smoking cold turkey. As an ex smoker myself, I know how many times I tried this method and failed. The truth is only 10 percent of smokers who try any mehtod are successful on their first attempt .Why is it so difficult to stop smoking cold turkey compared to other ways?
First you need to understand exactly why nicotine is so addictive in the first place. When you inhale, the nicotine from your cigarette causes receptors in your brain to release several chemicals, including dopamine which causes many of the good feeling you get when you smoke. Then when you quit your smokes, the lower levels of the same chemicals cause the miserable symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. These symptoms can begin as soon as four to six hours after your last cigarette and stay with you for a month or more.
The withdrawal symptoms vary with each smoker but can include:
Overwhelming cravings to smoke Insomnia Tiredness Headache Cough Sore throat Tightness in the chest Dry Mouth
So although they are temporary, you can see why such physical reactions could make you extremely uncomfortable. The more uncomfortable you are, the faster you will reach for a cigarette to relieve yourself of the unpleasantness of withdrawal. It can become a vicious circle.
When I finally won my battle over nicotine addiction, it was with the help of a nicotine replacement aid. These aids work by giving you nicotine without having to smoke. You will be 50% to 100% more likely to quit using a nicotine replacement aid.
The aids come in different forms according to your individual lifestyle. You can choose from gum, patches, inhalers, lozenges, and sprays. New and improved products have hit the market since I quit but with a little research you can find the perfect aid for you.
Arm yourself first with the nicotine replacement aid of your choice and then meet your challenge head on! I did it and I know you can too! The challenge to quit smoking is monumental. While every smoker would like to quit smoking cold turkey, it is certainly not the proven way to go nor is it the easiest.

Although most smokers are well aware of the dangers of inhaling nicotine all day long for years and years, they are still hesitant to quit for fear of gaining a few pounds! That rationale hardly makes sense but as an ex smoker I can understand this train of thought. Some smokers use this reasoning as an excuse not to quit. They are the ones who are not ready for the challenge. However, if you are one of the committed ones and are ready to meet your nicotine addiction head on, I can give you a few tips on how to avoid the stop smoking weight gain.
The simple fact is smokers who finally succeed in quitting average a weight gain of ten pounds. The reasons for this gain are also simple.
If you are accustomed to having a cigarette in hand and in your mouth, you’re going to try to find a substitute. Also, since you are able to smell and taste better without the cigarettes, food will be your first, handiest, and tastiest resort. In addition, nicotine increases the metabolic rate so when you stop smoking, your metabolic rate goes down. Ending result? The additional ten pounds!
Recognizing the facts about weight gain is the first step. Now let’s look at how to avoid it.
Studies have proven that people who exercise while quitting smoking have a much lower weight gain and are twice as likely to stick with their stop smoking program than those who don’t. After you quit smoking, you will feel better and will probably look forward to adding exercise to your daily routine.
Eat a healthy diet with plenty of fiber. Include whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Keep a food journal.
Keep your mouth busy with hard sugar-free candies or gum. Carrot sticks are a great way to occupy your hands and your mouth.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. It will help your cravings to smoke as well as boost your metabolism.
Allow time for a food craving to pass just as you would a cigarette craving.
The whole process of quitting smoking is a challenge. Being aware of all the obstacles ahead of you will make the going easier. Follow the steps above and you will be able to quit without the stop smoking weight gain. Stay focused and determined. Recognize the obstacles and prepare yourself to overcome them! You can do! I’m betting on you!

If you are preparing to quit smoking, it is best to be aware ahead of time of the withdrawal symptoms that you will experience. It is also helpful to know the benefits of quitting and how your body will begin to mend after you do. So let’s start examining what happens when you stop smoking.
As an ex smoker, I can tell you the nicotine withdrawal symptoms are the toughest part of the quit smoking challenge. Always bear in mind though that they are just a temporary phase.
As you quit, you are going to be hit by overwhelming urges to smoke. Some of these cravings are natural and others are promoted by your triggers. Triggers are moments or actions that you associate with smoking. Perhaps you always smoked when you had a beer. The beer will be your trigger to light up. It is essential you recognize what your triggers are and learn to avoid them. If avoiding them is impossible, then substitute a new reaction to them.
Tiredness and insomnia are other symptoms that can get the best of you. Combine these with a sore throat, coughing, irritability or chest tightness and you are looking at a very uncomfortable person. It is almost more than a person can handle.
Let me suggest now that you find a nicotine replacement aide to help you ease these symptoms so you can better carry on with your challenge. You can find these aides in the form of a nicotine patch, gum, lozenge, inhaler and even prescription medicine. When I quit, the spray aide worked for me but each person is different. Research and find the one that will give you the relief you need.
Literally within minutes of quitting nicotine, your heart rate and blood pressure drops. Twelve hours after quitting, your circulation improves and your lungs start to work better. Shortness of breath and coughing decrease one to nine months after quitting. Every month and every year your body will continue to repair itself from the effects of smoking. Your reward for a few weeks of harsh symptoms? A lifetime of better health! You are even going to look better!
Recognize what happens when you quit smoking. Equip yourself to meet the challenge. Face your battle head on and enjoy the freedom of being smoke free! It’s a wonderful reward. You can do it!

It is expected that later this year the Home Secretary, Alan Johnson, is to ban Spice Diamond, Spice Gold, Spice Arctic and other Spice smoking mixes along with a wide variety of other substances that are marketed as ‘cannabis substitutes’ or ‘cannabis emulators’ like JWH-018 in Spice Diamond and Spice Gold smoking mixes.
Ban of ‘Cannabis Emulators’ in Spice Mix
The hysteria has developed due to a rise in the consumption of legalized products that generally go untested before their release into the marketplace. Spice has been found to have a synthetically-created that is sprayed onto the dried mix of plant extracts to emulate the appeal of cannabis.
Many varieties of legal do not contain synthetically-created elements like JWH-018, but do contain plant extracts that are historically known to have psychoactive effects. The call to ban these substances comes after worries that the untested mixes may contain potentially harmful elements that are dangerous to one’s health. It is expected that by the end of the year that these legal highs will be reclassified as Class B substances alongside cannabis.
Unsafe Spice Products Removed Too Late
If these products are deemed to be unsafe for human use and are untested, then why were they allowed to be put into the public marketplace for so many years unchallenged? If what the government says is true about these substances, then why have they been allowed to be taxed and placed on sale for public consumption?
Spice was originally created to emulate the desirable effects of cannabis, but now is likely to find itself in the same category as narcotics. Cannabis smokers say that legal smoking mixes like are not nearly as potent and quite unlike the experience of smoking plants cannabis or marijuana. The government’s decision to continue the media war against cannabis while marginalizing the truly destructive narcotics such as cocaine and heroine seems to confuse priorities.
The increasing number of synthetically-created compounds yet to be classified as dangerous substances worries many on both sides of the argument. The ban will likely result in new black market trade in these substances, creating further opportunity and profit for illegal dealers, rather than research and investigation into what is truly harmful.

Thousands of smokers, both chain smokers and occasional smokers, have admitted that given a chance, they would quit smoking, but they still go back to it because it is very satisfying as an experience. Occasionally, several smokers have described the habit of smoking as reaching some sort of aesthetic nirvana, while others have called it a habit which is hard to break. There are people who have tried to quit over and over again, but have fallen short of their willpower and gone back to it. Several women have complained that they ran fat after they quit smoking, so they resumed keeping the tummy tucked firmly in by going back to their faithful cigarette which never really left there side for long.
There are plenty of reasons to quit smoking. But the willpower is a very strong factor. And this is where a lot of people lose out, because, artificial nicotine craving redactors are not very difficult to find, but they do not essentially do much to reduce smoking. However, now there is a natural way to quit smoking, without bilious side-effects, or instant weight gains, or recurring break-away from the habit. Champix, presented by Pfizer in 2006 is a wonderful drug which directly affects the smoker to reduce his habit of smoking. The drug works by reducing the satisfaction that nicotine pours into the system of the person concerned. It consists of varenicline, which helps in reducing nicotine craving.
The system of smoking works very simply. Over time, the body gets accustomed to the introduction to nicotine, and gets a surge of hormones through the system when nicotine is poured into the body. That is why the body craves nicotine when it is deprived of it for a while. So, by reducing the craving for nicotine, without introducing it to the body, Champix effectively reduces the need to smoke, and this is done through a natural drug, which is nicotine-free. The drug also fights withdrawals that one might suffer from when cigarettes are not available. Champix also effectively reduces the making of dopamine, which aids in giving the person the illusion of happiness when he smokes, and so, cigarettes no longer make the user feel happy, or content, or satisfied. This way, the smoker is led out of the path of smoking and into a healthier and safer lifestyle, where he can leave the harmful habit behind him.
Things people would normally never dream of ingesting are pumped into the lungs and bloodstream every time a cigarette is lit. Chemicals like Butane, Carbon Monoxide, DDT (insecticide), Lead, even Polonium-210 (radioactive fallout), just to name a few. You know it’s bad for you, so why is it so hard to quit?
“Nicotine addiction is one of the strongest addictions to overcome” - Paraphrased from P&T News February/March 1999
Introducing
All-natural, homeopathic, sublingual spray that helps relieve your symptoms as you kick the smoking habit!
DO YOU MEASURE TIME BY WHEN YOU LAST HAD A SMOKE?
An article in “New Scientist” reveals that in addition to altering the body’s dopamine levels, nicotine also causes hormone changes in smokers that alter their perception of time when they try to abstain. In a lab test, researchers studied how smokers and non-smokers estimate elapsed time. Initially, the two groups had similar abilities in time perception, but when tested again after abstaining for a day, most of the smokers estimated much longer time intervals, as much as 50 percent longer!
No wonder you’re irritable when you try to quit!
And that doesn’t even take into account all the other symptoms your body must deal with to break the strong addiction to smoking, and you’ve felt them, which is why it can be very hard to succeed. Q: What, exactly, is homeopathic medicine?
A: Back in the early 1800′s a gentleman by the name of Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician, became known for his medicinal formulas which were based on the premise that “like cures like.” That is, if a plant brought about certain symptoms in the body, sweating, active thirst, splotchy skin, then that plant would be able to “teach” the body to resist these same symptoms.
Q: Why do homeopathic medicines contain alcohol?
A: Homeopathic medicines use natural alcohol as a preservative, and as a means of naturally helping to protect the ingredients from contamination. In addition, it helps maximize absorption in the body.
Please note: If you have a known allergy to alcohol, do not take any homeopathic medicine.
Q: If I’m taking other medications, can I also use homeopathic medicines?
A: We advise you to first consult with your primary care provider, before adding homeopathic medication regimen.

There are many smokers looking for assistance to discontinue smoking. Ever increasingly, smokers go more cognizant of the electronegative aspects of smoking cigarettes. They acknowledge that it does impact their health, both in the medium term and surely in the retentive term. Among younger people, the awareness of longer term smoking-induced health problems is less prevailing. Most immature people smoke regularly, without always seeing the consequences. Lately, smoking has besides go more socially impossible. In big parts of the westerly world, smoking in public places is forbidden. You besides cannot merely light a cigarette in somebody’s house anymore. Governments and health organizations are working difficult to do particularly immature people cognizant of the dangers of smoking.
In principle, every smoker should be made fully aware of the dangers of smoking and also should be give help, information and support on how to stop smoking.
Among smokers there is always the great conundrum: “I don’t like smoking, but I wear’t know how to give up” Every year hundreds of thousands of smokers make a New Year’s resolution, unfortunately lone a small percentage manages to get through the first 2 days. Very few really end up being non-smokers as a result of their new year’s seek to become a non-smoker.
There are a number of ways to stop smoking. At the end of the last millennium, the Pharmaceutical Industry became aware of a market for medication to helping people in giving up smoking. There are various choices and options for nicotine replacement products, all under the banner of “Nicotine Replacement Therapy”. The most common ones are: nicotine patching and nicotine chewing gum. Statistically, those remedies are unfortunately not as effective as most people hope. Critics of nicotine patches and gums claim that it is a folly to continue to feed the body nicotine when the smoker has already given up smoking. Other options are anti-depressants. The problem with prescribing anti-depressants is that giving up smoking is not a mental disorder. It is the absence of and subsequent craving for nicotine that causes mood swings and mild depression. Some scientist believe that giving up smoking is more difficult than giving up heroine and there have been severe cases of depression and mood swings leading to violence and even murder.
If people suffer severe depressive turns as an ensuing of giving up smoking, it may be advisable to see a psychologist. Other options for people trying to become non-smokers include: homeopathic medication, acupuncture, so called “stop-smoking cigarettes” and “quit meters” (specialized software applications).
One of the more promising and essentially more effective methods of giving up smoking is: Clinical Hypnotherapy which includes using hypnosis to plant suggestions in the smokers mind that assist him or her to give up, without cravings, withdrawal symptoms or mood swings. “Quit Smoking Hypnosis” is rapidly becoming the preferred method of giving up when all other methods have failed
Free “quit smoking advice” can be obtained from the Internet. A substantial number of websites offer Stop Smoking Aids, tips & suggestions as well as “quit smoking strategies” for future non-smokers. There are a great number of self-help guides and books on the subject of “Giving Up Smoking”, written by specialists and/or professional authors. Perhaps the best examples of this genre are the books by Allen Carr.
The late Allen Carr, who had been a heavy smoker for 30 years, authored several popular books describing: “The Easy Way To Give Up Smoking”. After finally giving up himself, Carr started to analyze what caused his addiction and how he could counteract the common difficulties associated with giving up. He then created his method, which he describes in his books. Carr claimed to have assisted over 10 million smokers to quit.
When he was still smoking, Allen Carr attempted numerous times to quit smoking but did not succeed. It was not until he tried hypnosis to stop smoking that he finally managed to abandon his loathsome smoking habit. Despite resorting to “Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy”, Allen Carr claimed that this was not the determining factor in him becoming a non-smoker. According to Carr’s theory, there were a number of other factors involved, which are all exhaustively explained in his books.
In his books Carr repeatedly asks: “What is the main pleasure of smoking?” Scientists believe that the answer lies in the brain. We must get some pleasure out of smoking; why else would we do it? The physiological process of smoking involves nicotine entering the bloodstream and binding itself to specific receptors in the brain, thus inducing a state of relaxation and a feeling of well-being.
Carr claims that this is not the case. His theory is that, about one hour after every cigarette, the body gets into a state of nervous distress as the brain craves for a new “hit” of nicotine. When the body gives in to the need for another cigarette, in order to administer the nicotine to the bloodstream, the distress disappears, which creates a pseudo relaxed feeling of well-being. This pseudo relaxed feeling, however, is only the body’s turning from its earlier craving distressed state to its normal state.
Allen Carr theorizes in his books, that instead of smoking, you can be in a continuous state of “normal”, without having to give in to cigarette/nicotine craving. In addition, you could save money and maintain your health. According to Carr, the best way to give up smoking starts by first analyzing and subsequently removing all feelings and expectations of fear and dread that are associated with becoming a non-smoker. The Tobacco industry have somehow managed to induce the fear into aspiring ex-smokers that giving up is very difficult, if not impossible to do. Carr explains: “Once a person feels comfortable with the idea of giving up, and once he or she sets clear goals, quitting smoking becomes infinitely more manageable.
The Internet offers extensive information about Allen Carr’s “Quit Smoking” theories, methods and techniques. Equally there are other sources where support for giving up smoking can be found. When considering giving it up, it is advisable to find out what exactly happens to you, your body and your mind, after you have physically smoked your last cigarette. Is a good idea to read and absorb as much information that is available about “Quit Smoking Hypnosis” and “stop smoking tablets”, “stop smoking pills” and other “stop smoking medication”. It is important to remember that you should always want to quit smoking primarily for your own benefit, instead of the benefit of others.
Irrespective if you are using “stop smoking patches” or “stop smoking chewing gum”, it is important to choose your personal stop smoking method or give up smoking with the help of behavioural support, the end result should the same: you are far more likely to live a longer and healthier life. After giving up, you should normally an improvement in capacity of your respiratory organs and your immune system should be back in tact, preventing disease. “Help to quit smoking” is always available on-line and varies from stop smoking campaigns, articles and publications, to “stop smoking tips” and “stop smoking suggestions”. The sources are health professionals or specialists in the field of psychology or Clinical Hypnotherapy, as well as individuals who have successfully “kicked the habit”. All that on-line stop smoking information can be beneficial when you want to give up. Why not take your time and discover how you can do it best!
If you want to give up in the same way Allen Carr himself did and apply hypnosis, there is a free online hypnotherapy service by a British non-profit organization called www.nosmokingagain.org
ohn Wesdorp is an UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts & Sciences Graduate practices Clinical Advanced Hypnotherapy and Neural Linguistic Programming. He is the creator of NoSmokingAgain.Org and runs a successful hypnotherapy clinic in Cheshire in the United Kingdom. John has years of experience in the field of Smoking Cessation through Hypnotherapy.
John is a former smoker who therefore, better than anybody, understands the entire “stop smoking” managed. It’s what I worked with, myself, while I was discontinuing in January 2005. I appeared at when and why I fumed and oppugned what I really got out of it.
