How to Quit Smoking 5 Easy Steps
Are you honestly trying to quit smoking, is the constant bickering of your loved ones and doctor getting to you? Do you find yourself wanting to quit but cannot seem to keep yourself from buying that pack? Do you feel anxious and overpowered? If so, I have provided some helpful hints and tips that may help you lead a more smoke-free lifestyle. Some of this advice may seem overstated but some may be new so take your time and read how you can be on your way to a happy and healthier lifestyle.

If you are going to quit, quit when you wake up! It takes about 24 hours for the nicotine to leave your body and less time when your body starts the healing process. By quitting in the morning, you have already slept through the physical withdrawals.

Monitor your meals, when you eat too much you are probably used to digesting with a cigarette, so only eat a portion the size of your fist five times a day. Also, by doing this you speed the healing process up with nutrition as well as speed up your metabolism, which will prevent you from gaining weight.

Clean your home of ashtrays and anything that is associated with cigarettes or the smell it leaves attached to fabrics, furniture and carpets. In addition, by sticking dryer wipes in your closet and draws you can help keep your clothes from smelling like smoke as well.

Stay clear from social interactions where people are smoking, these days most bars are banned from anyone smoking in their establishment. However, friend’s homes or smoking areas outside an office or so forth may not help with the temptations. Do not completely stop hanging out with friends just ask to hangout somewhere where they can’t smoke around you.

Get some more help! Hotlines and support groups could be helpful to some, but were not for me. In fact, what helped me the most was a book called “The Easy Way to Quit Smoking” by Allen Carr. This book is written by someone who was a heavy smoker and understands what you are going through. Unlike other ways to quit where you are given a schedule Carr shows you how to do it in a way that is comfortable to you and in the legth of time that you feel confident about. As I said before some of this advice may be overstated or may just be the first time you heard any of it. Either way the fact that you are reading this article show an interest on your part, and maybe it’s time to taking that next step.
