I’m getting gastric bypass surgery, final decision, i’m just tired of hearing people talk about vitamins/after?

Question by LiLLy: I’m getting gastric bypass surgery, final decision, i’m just tired of hearing people talk about vitamins/after?
I mentioned to someone today through work that I will be having gastric bypass. It was a business meeting (basically a guy who is a notary, very kind and all) and he asked how I was doing. We were both large in figure so I I just happened to throw out that I’m good i’m just looking forward to having gastric bypass soon. He communicated his opinions and concern and advise, which I was happy to receive, I just thought it was lacking when he mentioned how one of the supplements i’ll have to take will be calcium because of “___”. I mentioned that I currently take vitamins along with calcium and just for for years now, one of the draw backs of this surgery people look at the daily ‘ oh you have to take vitamins’ how should I address this concern? Shouldn’t people take vitamins throughout their life and not just when they’re 40+?

BTW: I am in my late 20′s, put on my weight through opening a very successful business, and have just put on so much weight im having a hard time with my knees and ankles functioning properly and I need this life changing opportunity to help me balance properly. So far I have quit smoking (its been a year and half) and I am trying to be on the right track…..im just wondering when people mention the “vitamin” thing what should I say??????????????

If you are eating right generally you do not need vitamins through your life. It is just that few americans actually eat right. When people act concerned about parts of the operation just tell them you have thought everything through

Don’t Just Quit Smoking – Plan to Quit Smoking

Have a chat with your friends and people you know and ask for their general opinions on smoking in general, and how they feel about you smoking. Have a look around you and take note of how smokers are recognized by those who don’t smoke. Check out the negative aspects of smoking and any effects it may have on people near you.

Ask some ex-smokers what methods they used, which they failed with as well as those that where successful, tell everyone you know about your plan to quit smoking; it’s likely that they can suggest some different things that you can do which will help avoid smoking. If you have a bad urge to smoke, do everything you can to put it off and delay lighting up, slow down your brains demands for nicotine, think about why it is that you want to smoke, also try and think about the way other people would react if you gave in a lit up. With practice and by using delaying tactics

You will educate yourself and find yourself becoming more attuned to your own patterns of smoking.

A lot of quitters have discovered that it is a great idea to keep some kind of record or journal (perhaps even an online blog from wordpress.org) as a way of keeping track of the patterns of their own smoking habit. Try and find out the times when you are more likely to light a cigarette, as well as the times when you hardly smoke at all. Browse the net for some stress reduction techniques. Consider starting a new hobby, activity or sport that would make it more difficult to smoke, i.e. it’s quite hard to smoke when skydiving!

Prior to any actual attempt to stop smoking get a notebook and attempt to compile a true account of the money you spend on smoking each day, a lot of people are pretty stunned when they add up a weekly total as they admit that they smoke less than 10 a day but the true figure is double!

Stop bulk buying cigarettes, buy single packs when you go out, not the bulk packs of 200 or 500.

Put together a bullet list of the reasons you want to quit smoking and tape it to your fridge. One method worth trying before you actually quit is to light up your first cigarette 10 minutes later every day, by the end of a week your first nicotine fix is already an hour later.

Ask everyone you know for their favourite quit smoking methods, there are of course loads of different ways that people use so never giver up on giving up!

As soon as you have decided on the date that you are going to stop smoking, let everybody know about it so that they are aware of what you are doing, avoid areas where people smoke and be ready for the times when your need to smoke is high, try to be ready for these moments with a contingency plan already in place to distract you, something as simple as spearmint gum or extra strong mints can be enough.

As you get nearer and nearer to the date you have set for quitting try and increase the gaps between lighting up, try and cut out every 2nd or 3rd cigarette completely, this will gradually reduce your nicotine intake and help make actually stopping less stressful (both for you and those around you!)

Approach your quitting date make the gaps between lighting your cigarettes longer and longer, if you can cut out ever other cigarette, as your nicotine levels are reduced you should find quitting easier. Try to stay away from drinking alcohol; alcohol will almost certainly lessen your willpower. Try and put away the money you spend usually on smoking – you will be surprised by how much it is and how fast it mounts up.

Try and reduce the remnants of your smoking habit in your surroundings, was your car inside and out, vacuum your house and have your clothes professionally cleaned, destroy all your ashtrays, discard your lighters and prepare yourself for your first 24 hours smoke free.

The Amazing Way To Quit Smoking In Just 30 Minutes A Day

It frequently happens for people to mention hypnotherapy in relation to successful efforts to quit smoking. Indeed, hypnosis is one of the systems most recurrently preferred by persons who have made an objective out of quitting smoking. Those who have quit in this manner could lay money on this technique. The number-one advantage is in the fact that the majority of people can undergo hypnosis.

The function of a hypnotherapy session or sessions is to generate a slight sleeping condition to allow for the quit-smoking implications offered by the therapist to offer substitutes for the need to smoke. In addition, the therapist will suggest other activities to satisfy this craving to smoke.

Generally, people need only a single session to free themselves from the habit of smoking. Nevertheless, the number of sessions necessary does vary and depends upon both the patient and the hypnotist. As a result, other people may need up to four hypnotherapy sessions to quit smoking. Depending on your choice and that of your therapist, you have the possibility of in-group sessions or individual sessions.

However, the individual option has a superior achievement tempo as compared to in-group approaches. Moreover, a regular one-on-one meeting lasts anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour, while in-group meetings can extend to several hours.

The second great advantage of quitting smoking by means of hypnotherapy is in the fact that it does not require medication. In this manner, patients are able to maintain their body free of chemicals while eliminating the toxic habit of smoking. Such an advantage appears in an enhanced light when you come to consider the fact that you might remove such a damaging routine with only one consultation with the hypnotist.

In addition, hypnosis is a reliable approach for people who would like to stop smoking but just cannot do it out of lack of willpower and strength of mind.

Throughout a hypnosis session, your therapist will set approved suggestions into your hidden brainpower to assist you in the process of prevailing over your smoking addiction. Subsequently, the suggestions set into your subconscious mind by your therapist will relate to the elimination of your yearning for tobacco. Essentially, you will come to experience no anxieties related to the need of your body for tobacco.

In this manner, after the session is over, you will not sense any forced dispossession of anything. The success of hypnosis treatments is in you allowing the suggestions to be effective.

In essence, anyone should be able to undergo hypnotic sessions to remove smoking habits. Nevertheless, the patient should not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Moreover, the person undergoing hypnosis should be willing to do it. Do not opt for hypnosis merely because you feel forced by someone else to do it. In such cases, where you do not feel the confidence that hypnosis is good for you, hypnotherapy will not yield the anticipated positive results.

Many people ask about the manner in which they could be certain that hypnotherapy will have an effect (a positive one, of course) upon their smoking behavior. The power of hypnosis resides in it being able to work against specific smoking triggers. In one session, your subconscious mind may prove able to recognize and stamp out particular circumstances that activate the desire to smoke. Moreover, through hypnotic sessions, you will experience an incredible relief of pressure (i.e. stress), known to be a major factor in causing people to smoke.

By means of the suggestions substituting the need to smoke, the mind is able to categorize and remove potential anxieties related to the elimination of smoking. Such anxieties regularly connect to the misleading myth that once you quit smoking you immediately put on weight; however, these are mere pretexts for not quitting. In other words, by means of the agreed suggestions placed into your subconscious mind, hypnosis will unshackle the patient from smoking-removal fears.

On top, it will provide the individual with new, substituting behaviors, visibly reflected in enhanced poise and serenity. Hypnosis works fundamentally because it makes it possible for you to trust your own power to quit.

After the session, the patient will feel fine, stress-free and with a sense of increased self-confidence. As far as the authentic experience of undergoing hypnosis, it is very intricate to describe, since it ranges somewhere between sleep and consciousness. In any case, the hypnotic trance (as many people describe the feeling) is similar to an incredibly agreeable condition of respite, a modified position of perception to which individuals have access in order to place preferred positive suggestions for the use of the subconscious mind.

In this manner, one could describe hypnosis as a natural, successful method of establishing contact with one’s unconscious self and of making an agreement with it. Our subconscious mind can be a starting place for many of our troubles, but it can also stand for a fantastic source of unknown latent power and understanding of one’s both weak and strong points.

Because hypnotherapy is entirely natural and harmless, there is no probability of detrimental results. In the hands of a competently educated and expert hypnotist, you have the guarantee of permanently eliminating your smoking behavior. Moreover, consider the fact that you do not lose control of yourself throughout a session of hypnosis for eliminating smoking habits. On the contrary, you may take notice of everything said. However, it is not necessary for you to listen to it if you do not want to. You will acknowledge only what you want to acknowledge.

Finally, the encouraging aspect to keep in mind is that even if hypnotherapy feels different for distinct individuals, it always feels enjoyable. Of course, one should not fear that the therapist could place any undesired suggestions in one’s subconscious mind.

The entire enjoyable aspect lies in the patient’s strength to accept or reject the suggestions provided.

At the end of the session, you will walk liberated of your need to smoke. Consider this concluding remark: When you have such a safe, natural alternative at hand, why should you not go for it?
