<p>So what is the secret? No secret actually, <em>but the prequalification to stop smoking is very important.</em></p>
<p><strong>You Must Truly Want To Stop.</strong></p>
<p>Unless you can convince yourself that you want to stop smoking, no advertisement, exhortation, medical proof or medical advice will sway you from your path of self destruction. I&#8217;ve been there.</p>
<p>Ignore the rubbish you tell yourself every day: withdrawal, craving, weight gain, foul moods and all the rest. None of this stuff happens outside of your brain, which is fighting to keep on smoking.</p>

<p>I have friends and loved ones who want to quit smoking and are considering using Chantix to help. I decided to do a little research into this new smoking cessation drug to learn more about its side effects. So I hit the web and searched for information about Chantix. What I discovered was quite alarming. </p>
<p>To start off I went right to the Chantix official website to see what it had to say about the side effects of this drug, I learned that Chantix is a non-nicotine drug that works by targeting the nicotine receptors in the brain, attaches to them, and keeps nicotine from reaching them. The list of side potential side effects is amazingly long. </p>
<p>The most common side effect is nausea which happens in 30% of people who take Chantix. There are also other physical side effects including sleep problems, constipation, gas, and vomiting. There is even the possibility for serious skin reactions, some of which can be life threatening. </p>
<p>What I found even scarier was the mental and emotional side effects. These include anxiety, panic, anger, hallucinations, paranoia, and even suicidal thoughts. It was incredible to me that a drug to quit smoking had so many frightening side effects. </p>
<p>Chantix has a success rate of 44%. I wonder if less than a 50-50 chance of quitting smoking is worth taking a chance of experiencing some of these side effects when there are other stop smoking methods available. <p><strong>First Phase: Public Embarrassment</strong></p>
<p>So it&#8217;s no secret that cigarette smoke is chock full of carbon monoxide. Big deal, right? There&#8217;s a great deal of carbon monoxide in the air that we breathe already. The problem is by directly putting yourself in the CO zone, you&#8217;ve consigned yourself to some of the most painful and embarrassing effects that it actually has on the body. Among other things, you&#8217;ll be suffering with:</p>
<p>• bad breathe (halitosis)</p>
<p>• immense plaque build up on the teeth</p>
<p>• gum disease (from the lack of oxygen in the skin cells)</p>
